Shop & Goblins Beginner Guide

Everything new players should know to build a strong foundation, avoid beginner mistakes, and grow efficiently.

Shop and Goblins city overview

Getting Started

Your city is the foundation of your progression in Shop & Goblins. Focus on unlocking buildings, upgrading production, and completing beginner objectives early.

What Kind of Game Is Shop & Goblins?

Shop & Goblins mixes city building, hero collection, troop warfare, resource management, crafting, economy systems, alliances, PvP, and events.

Your First Goal: Follow the Main Story

The main story unlocks buildings, introduces mechanics, expands your city, gives rewards, and helps pace your upgrades correctly.

When in doubt: follow the main story objectives.

Hero Basics

Class

Tank, Melee, Ranged, and Support describe a hero’s combat style.

Type

Shielders, Shooters, Riders, and Leaders describe troop specialization.

Role

Conqueror, Hunter, Balanced, Garrison, and Gatherer describe purpose.

Troop Counter System

Riders > Shooters > Shielders > Riders

Raw power alone does not guarantee victory. A smaller force using correct counters can outperform stronger opponents with poor troop matchups.
